Mobile is King: 2015 is Your Time for App Profits

2014 was a year in which we saw everything go mobile. In 2015 having a mobile presence is no longer an option, rather mandatory. Blackberry, Nintendo, and hundreds of other companies that were once successful crashed and burned because they didn’t change for the trends that were changing the scene in their respected niches. Do you really want to be like them?

In 2015 you are going to focus on being better at mobile. We all have what to work on (we’d like to release our app), but we can all probably agree that app profits would be terrific. Step in Como (what is it?). Just before the clock hit 2015, they published a fantastic blog post “Resolutions that Pay: 3 Ways to Make Your App a Moneymaker in 2015”.

The post specifically takes a look at how Como-powered apps have performed in 2014, and offers us all a look at three profitable resolutions “for getting more from your app in the coming year—each of them more fun than giving up sweets”.

Below is just a bit of what their team came up with, and we highly recommend giving the original post a full read – or at least scanning it over.

1. Use enticing updates to get customers thinking about your products

We are in an age in which social media is one of our daily source of energy. We check it more often than anything else on the web. Hence, one integral part of a successful app, especially when looking to profit off of it, is making sure that you are able to offer updates to your fan-base in a unique and engaging manner.

In the post they explain just how to do that, and offer proof from social media on how addicting and shareable good updates can be.

2. Make it simple for customers to find you and shop

This should come as common knowledge – consumers don’t like hard homework.  If you don’t have an app yet, then Como is one heck of an option, and in the case you do or that isn’t your route you should still make sure to add a form (for feedback and such), a simple “contact” tab, and a few other neat features to maximize the ROI on your app.

3. Give your app a personalized feel that sells

We used to all hand out business cards – today your business app is your first impression to consumers and clients.  According to their research, the most successful apps tend to have a unique-taste to them (something distinctive).

What can you do to be different than the rest of the field? Consider adding interesting texts, awesome graphics, and unique tabs. The post offers a couple more tips that are great for making the app a reflection of your brand.
