Ai Da is the world’s first female robot artist. She creates its own panels through artificial intelligence technology.
Eden Miller, a specialist in modern art, said that the idea of creating a robot artist came up to him several years ago, noting that his work in galleries for more than twenty years led him to ask him self about the nature of art. After reading many Books on this topic, he came to the conclusion that artificial intelligence will be one of the most important developments in our future. Miller said that he was always interested in the role that the artificial intelligence would play in the art world, and how AI and new technologies would affect the world as a whole.
With the help of an international team of engineers, computer scientists and innovators, the world’s first ultra-realistic artist robot with the power to create creative artwork has been launched. Miller explained that the goal of the “Ai-Da” project is not to create autonomous robot artist, as there is no complete autonomy, but rather an avant-garde artistic project with influences from “Dada” and “postmodernism”, pushing the boundaries of interaction and creativity between Human and artificial intelligence. The purpose of Ai-Da is two things. The first is to experiment with artistic processes to challenge our notions of what is possible creatively and artistically. The second is a discussion of future uses of technologies. Ai-Da produces a number of different artworks from pencil drawings, oil paintings, sculptures, and calligraphy to performance art and even poetry.
